A PE-backed mid-size industrial equipment manufacturer sought to evaluate the potential of a new market and needed resources to review opportunities and provide recommendations.
Upon engagement, HighPoint created a custom team of professionals led by a former Principal in McKinsey’s Industrial Practice who was supported by McKinsey and Booz alumni with similar industry experience.
The team identified and sized the strongest markets, conducted competitive analyses, and delivered a matrix of opportunities that ranked target markets according to attractiveness, current and potential size, and fit with client’s core capabilities.
Following the conclusion of the initial project, the HighPoint team was retained to conduct similar assessments for several different divisions of the company, leading to multiple investments and acquisitions by the client.
