In preparation for an upcoming board review, a multi-billion dollar global food products company sought assistance in the development of a product segment strategy for a category that cut across multiple business units.
HighPoint was engaged to develop and support a strategic approach. We deployed a former BCG consultant with significant relevant industry experience to work alongside the company’s designated project team consisting of members from all of the relevant business units and support functions.
Initiatives included collecting and reviewing industry data and trends, identifying implications of the changing marketplace environment, evaluating required capital investments to remain competitive, and analyzing current and forecasted customer and consumer demand.
Efforts resulted in the appointment of a category lead and new innovation for the segment, and accelerated contingency planning for forecasted industry conditions.
