A subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar public utility needed additional resources to undertake strategic planning initiatives, including revamping the company’s annual strategic planning process, developing the next year’s annual budget, and creating a five-year strategic plan.
HighPoint deployed a team co-led by a former McKinsey Senior Partner in that firm’s Energy Practice and a former BCG Managing Director who led that firm’s Industrial Practice.
The team analyzed the utility’s product/market focus, customer value proposition, business model/economics, competitive dynamics, alliance strategy, and scalability to create their recommendations.
Following the completion of the assessment, the team was re-engaged to help drive implementation and assist in development of a PMI playbook for the company’s anticipated acquisition strategy.
